What is a sitemap? A sitemap is a web site map that contains information about everything on your site. Google and other search engines can read your page even if you don't upload a sitemap, but it doesn't hurt to give Google as much information as possible.

Submitting your sitemap in Search Console

Go to the home page and click on your website.

Then go to Search Actions -> Sitemaps

Click the "Add/Test Sitemap" button in the top right corner.

Enter sitemap.xml into the empty box and click the submit button.
